We are certified by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) as well as the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors and maintain U, R and NB code stamp authorization. All our welders are certified to ASME and American Welding Society (AWS) qualified welding procedures.

Robinson Machine Company seeks an energetic Welder.  In this role, you will be responsible to perform welding on any equipment fabricated at this manufacturing location. You must have a keen attention to detail and should have the ability to tack and fit as needed in the shop.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Proven ability to consistently produce high quality and precision welds on all fabricated components
  • Review project assignment/instructions from Team Leader
  • Review drawings and welding details for job
  • Obtain understanding of task and develop action plan
  • Set up welding machine and other required equipment
  • Weld assemblies per the required standards
  • Ensure work meets quality standards
  • Consistently look for ways to eliminate waste and improve processes
  • Practice safety in all aspects of job
  • Look for safety issues with equipment and processes
  • Participate in safety improvement programs
  • Participate in tier meetings
  • Work overtime when required

Desired Experience and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED and a combination of training and strong welding experience
  • Professional certification or succession completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is a plus
  • Proven experience with FCAW, GMAW & GTAW welding processes. SAW a big plus
  • Must be able to pass AWS D14.6 and AWS D1.1 welding qualification tests at a minimum
  • Read and understand Robinson weld detail drawings, blueprints, welding procedures, and shop travelers.  Fluent in English, working with written and verbal communication.  Attend continual education for welding process
